The wonders of fishing

I think it would be fair to assume that an average young man in modern society, has not caught, killed, and processed a carp(fish) for his own consumption. He has not put in the effort of learning how to fish properly. Didn’t get his equipment and bait ready. He didn’t drive and walk to a proper fish destination. This destination has to be remote and hard to access so you can be assured that no other fishermen go there. You also have to adopt that kind of “hunter mindset”. This may be the fault of the lazy people the system is spitting out. Subsequently, it may be my fault and we should forget how to fish. But I don’t think so.

These things I mentioned an average Joe can’t do these days, are a challenging few tasks. But the real challenge and reward come after you cast that rod and sit down to wait. If you chose the right spot, you should be completely alone. Nothing for the vast reach of your eye. There is no need to mention that if you are this person like me sitting in nature and fishing, you don’t play music or make any unnatural acts or noises. Like a cat waiting for its prey. This moment is what gets the real minds excited. This is the moment the “lazy” system mind gets bored and leaves our tale.

For there is absolutely nothing that you have to do apart from watching and making sure you set the fish. Basic human instinct, don’t really have to think about that. Nature is playing sounds to you with the tongues of wind, rustling leaves, vast amounts of water shifting. Not everyone can hear and enjoy these sounds and scenes. That is what separates the “normal fisherman” and the “profound fisherman”. If put in other words this could be translated into real life. As you start to enjoy little things more and more you become comfortable being with just yourself. You kind of blend in. Most modern people would call this boring, they would say that fishing is boring and a waste of time. These are closed minds and cannot see growth in the simplest of things.

Lately, I have realised that when fishing the profound mind can be very productive. As you are In contact with nature, your core human instincts are alive, primal, your brain can think up some nifty ideas. About anything. The sky is the limit. You can be thinking about how to make your house apocalypse ready or about your business. Basically, anything that is profound in one way or another. Or on the other hand, if you are trying to escape and recharge, going fishing is the cure. Atop all of this fishing can teach a man patience that is sorely needed in life. Without patience, we all rush about life. No patience to sit down, be alone for a while. Waiting for the fish. This wait may be excruciatingly long on certain occasions. I have been on multiple day fishing trips where I have caught nothing. Those trips morph into a spiritual journey towards the close. Also, the pains & suffering that come with profound fishing experiences teach you a great deal about life. There is a saying about fishing. If you want to catch a proper monster you have to really suffer.

BANG. And it’s show time. The hook is set and you are fighting a big fish. Now for a complete beginner, this could be a challenging moral situation. When he reels the fish in he has 2 choices, release the fish or kill it and eat it. For someone who has never killed a big fish killing it can be challenging. Being able to kill and process fish properly is a very valuable skill. I’m not just talking about fish but any animal for consumption in general. If you think about it you are just getting someone else to kill the animals for you. When they stop getting paid they will stop doing it for you. But more on that in later posts.

At the end of the day after you have gone fishing and even if you didn’t catch anything your day was good. I believe that the average man needs this more than ever. From being tortured by their relatives to believing that they are useless. I believe that what they need to do is start believing in being human. Free their mind and trust your wisdom. Fishing may be the start of that for the average Joe. The way of achieving a profound mind.
